The 4th annual portfolio review
provides an opportunity to students to personally meet with professionals (from virtually every field from Medical to Game design) in a low-pressure environment and get feedback on portfolio content and layout. It's a perfect opportunity for underclassmen to learn about creating a portfolio and learning job skills, and for upperclassmen to tweak their portfolios to get ready for job-hunting.
The review will be held in Leazar Hall, with an intro and Q+A session in Burns Auditorium at 10am on Saturday, November 14. Coffee and lunch will be provided.
Click on the images above for registration info and the tentative schedule.

If you've never been to a student portfolio review, the way it works is:
We get a bunch of ID professionals together, and you meet with one of them at a time, on an individual basis, show them your portfolio, and you get feedback on it. (The only other thing like it is the review at the yearly Regional Conferences, and this one is more helpful in a lot of ways, all for a tiny fraction of the price.)
If you don't have a portfolio
You can still check out other student's portfolios, and participate in all the activities that will go on throughout the day.
Simply put,
If you're an ID student, and you want to get a job when you graduate, don't miss this event.
Register Now.
Please e-mail us with any questions.

Portfolio Q+A Notes
Thanks to Sara Falcon, Tim Bennett, and Mark Hagen for your insight into portfolios!
There was a lot of good conversation (and note-taking) on the panelists experience with portfolios. Most of it was subjective type stuff, but here's some of the more concrete items, and some helpful links...
Just remember:
"You can have the greatest ideas in the world, but if it looks like poop on your page, nobody cares..."
